Black History Celebration: The Rise of Black Wall Street At The Central Public Library On February 12th!

“The focus of this event is the rise of Black Wall Street – historically, culturally and currently. What was Black Wall Street and what caused its demise? Has it risen from the ashes? If so, what does that look like now? Is Black Wall Street defined by wealth and money or is it supporting black-owned businesses? What is its social meaning? These questions and more will be discussed by a panel that includes Professor Byron D. Franklin, University of Baltimore School of Law and others. Enjoy musical entertainment by Operatic Baritone Jorell Williams and experience our pop-up marketplace. This event is in partnership with the Local Development Corporation of East New York.”
