Announces Live Concert in ENY

Brooklyn, NY — September 2025 — The legendary DJ Watkins & Friends in partnership with New York State Assemblywoman Nikki Lucas and New York City Councilman Chris Banks are proud to present the third Annual East New York Concert & Wellness Series — a four-day celebration of music, culture, and community wellness.

The series will run from Thursday, September 18 through Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Van Siclen Avenue between Vandalia Avenue and Schroeders Avenue in Brooklyn. The event is free and open to the public, offering a diverse lineup of performances across multiple genres while connecting residents with valuable community and wellness resources.

“East New York is a community rich with talent, culture, and resilience,” said Assemblywoman Nikki Lucas. “This event is about bringing people together through music while also uplifting our neighborhood with resources and support.”

Councilman Chris Banks added, “We are proud to continue this tradition of unity, wellness, and celebration right here in East New York. This series highlights the best of who we are as a community.”

Four Days of Music & Culture

Thursday, September 18 – Caribbean & Latin Night (5 PM – 9 PM)
Featuring Saucy Wow Belfon, Latin Artist Giro Lopez, Bascom X, Denise Belfon, Luci Martin, and Norma Jean Wright (former original lead vocalists of Chic).

Friday, September 19 – House Music Night (5 PM – 9 PM)
With performances by house DJs including DJ Kervyn Mark, DJ T-Groove, and DJ Groove.

Saturday, September 20 – Hip-Hop, R&B & Reggae (1 PM – 9 PM)
Headlined by Evelyn Champagne King, Brand Nubian, Kenny Bobien, Strafe, Fresh Gordon, Big Ticky, Kool Rock Ski (of The Fat Boys), Grand Master Dee from Whodini, and more, with DJs including DJ Just-Nice, DJ Flowdak, DJ Skip, DJ SkiZ, DJ Mel E Mel.

Sunday, September 21 – Gospel & Jazz (1 PM – 6 PM)
Closing the series with Hezekiah Walker, James Hall, Rob & King Skip, Nakisha Smith, and Friends & Strangers Band.

Community Wellness & Support

In addition to world-class performances, the series will include community resources and health-focused initiatives. The event is hosted by Blahzay Blahzay and Bobby Konders, with support from NYPD, FDNY, Food Bazaar, Fusion East Caribbean Soul Restaurant, and New Wave Dance.
