(Press Release) Performing Arts & Technology High School to Host Annual Black History Month Show in East New York

Performing Arts & Technology High School (PATHS) will present its annual Black History Month celebration, “Our Story: The Power of Black Excellence,” on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with doors opening at 5:00 PM, at the TJC Auditorium, 400 Pennsylvania Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11207.

This highly anticipated evening of culture, creativity, and community will showcase the extraordinary talents of PATHS students through dynamic performances by:

  • PATHS Theatre
  • PATHS Modern Band
  • PATHS Dance
  • PATHS Vocal

The annual show serves as both a tribute and a powerful artistic expression of Black history, resilience, and achievement. Under the theme “Our Story: The Power of Black Excellence,” students will use music, movement, and dramatic storytelling to honor the past while celebrating the present and future of Black culture.

“This show is about more than performance — it’s about pride, identity, and empowerment,” said Mrs. Jones, teacher of PATHS Dance. “Our students pour their hearts into this production. Through dance and the arts, they are telling stories of strength, creativity, and excellence that deserve to be seen and celebrated by the entire community.”

The event is open to the public. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and children under 7.

Families, alumni, community leaders, and residents of East New York and surrounding neighborhoods are encouraged to attend and support the talented young artists of PATHS. The evening promises to be an inspiring celebration of heritage, artistry, and unity.
