(Community Story) Shining Stars 2025 — Celebrate 20 Years of PATHS Dance at Thomas Jefferson Campus on Saturday June 21
The East New York community is invited to attend this year’s Shining Stars Dance Showcase, celebrating 20 incredible years of the PATHS Dance Program at Performing Arts & Technology High School (PATHS), located inside the Thomas Jefferson Campus.
This year’s show will be extra special, as it marks both the 20th anniversary of the program and the retirement of its longtime leader, Mrs. Jones, who has dedicated two decades to shaping young dancers and elevating the arts in East New York.

Recent program highlights include:
-
A 10-day training trip to Switzerland with the Braswell Arts Center, founded by PATHS alum Armando Braswell.
-
A 7-day trip to Chicago to train with Deeply Rooted Dance Theater—with two PATHS students now accepted into Deeply Rooted’s elite summer intensive this year.
-
A growing list of alumni, including Wade Watson, who have gone on to professional dance careers.
Despite its success, the program has quietly thrived without the broader recognition it deserves. This is our chance to show East New York’s young dancers how much their work matters.
Everyone is encouraged to attend — bring your students, bring your groups, bring your family and friends. Let’s fill the auditorium and celebrate 20 years of dance, dedication, and community pride.
