BROOKLYN, NY: Assemblymember Stefani Zinerman was joined by New York State Attorney General Letitia James, leaders from the state’s largest labor unions, and dozens of community members on Sunday, June 7, 2026, for a canvass and rally celebrating a wave of state budget victories delivered for the families of Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights.
The event was held at Nicholas Brooklyn, a longstanding Black-owned business and cultural hub that has served the Bed-Stuy community for decades. The setting underscored the day’s message. When Brooklyn organizes, Brooklyn wins.
Leaders from organized labor stood shoulder to shoulder in support of Assemblymember Zinerman, recognizing her record of delivering for working families. A COALITION THAT DELIVERS
The day brought together a powerhouse of organized labor, including 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, DC 37 (AFSCME), the AFL-CIO, the United Federation of Teachers, the New York State Nurses Association, and Transport Workers Union Local 100. Their leaders affirmed that Assemblymember Zinerman has been a consistent partner for working people in Albany.
Community members echoed that support, pointing to Zinerman’s presence on the blocks of Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights and her record of showing up for the neighborhood.
LOOKING AHEAD TO JUNE 23
With early voting running June 13 through June 21 and the Democratic Primary on June 23, the rally served as both a celebration and a call to action. Assemblymember Zinerman urged neighbors to make a plan to vote and to bring others with them.
