160 Years of Holiday Magic: PETE’S TAVERN Unveils its Grand 2024 Holiday Display
New York, NY – It’s Time! Pete’s Tavern, the historic Gramercy Park institution beloved by New Yorkers since 1864, has just launched its most ambitious holiday decorations yet to celebrate an incredible milestone—160 years of continuous hospitality. This year’s holiday display promises to transform the city’s festive season with breathtaking decorations and a tribute to the heart and soul of New York.
Starting today, every corner of Pete’s Tavern glows with 30,000 twinkling lights, 27 elegant wreaths, over 3,000 feet of garland, and 160 toy soldiers standing proudly to commemorate each year of Pete’s history. Guests will be treated to the timeless atmosphere enhanced with fresh holiday cheer: 111 Santas, 30 mesmerizing moving displays, and awe-inspiring new features like towering inflatables and a whimsical Santa dangling high above the roof, held in place by none other than Rudolph himself.
Pete’s Tavern didn’t just “decorate” for the season; the transformation took over 2,400 hours of meticulous planning and preparation, beginning last June. Each detail of the design—from the Bar Room’s iconic red-light ceiling to the vintage charm of the Speakeasy Room—invites visitors to step into a world of holiday nostalgia and wonder. This is more than just décor; it’s a holiday experience, as timeless as the legendary patrons who have called Pete’s a home away from home, including O. Henry, who famously penned The Gift of the Magi right in Pete’s Bar Room.
