Akin has strengthened its New York corporate practice with the return of technology transactions lawyer Neil DuChez as a partner. DuChez most recently spent more than nine years at Goldman Sachs, where he served as Vice President and Senior Legal Director and advised on technology, data, artificial intelligence, intellectual property and commercial agreements. At Akin, his practice will include technology-enabled transactions, strategic partnerships, software and cloud agreements, AI and data analytics, payment technologies and technology issues connected to acquisitions and divestitures. The firm said the appointment expands its U.S.-based technology transactions capabilities as technology and data become increasingly important components of major corporate deals. DuChez previously worked at Akin as an intellectual property associate.
Akin Enhances Technology Transactions Capabilities with Addition of Corporate Partner Neil DuChez in New York
Akin announced today that Neil DuChez has rejoined the firm as a corporate partner in New York, adding dedicated U.S.-based technology transactions capability to its market-leading corporate platform. His arrival comes as technology, data and AI considerations influence virtually every significant corporate transaction.
Neil advises on complex technology and commercial transactions, including strategic partnerships, joint development arrangements, outsourcing matters and technology-enabled transactions. His practice spans SaaS and software licensing agreements, cloud services, artificial intelligence and data analytics solutions, data and content licensing arrangements, payment technologies and other mission-critical technology products and services. He also advises on the technology, intellectual property, data and transition services aspects of acquisitions, divestitures and other strategic transactions. Most recently, Neil served as Vice President and Senior Legal Director in the Technology Legal group at Goldman Sachs, where he led the negotiation and execution of complex global technology, product, partnership and services agreements and advised on complex technology, data, AI and intellectual property matters across the firm’s business divisions.
