Assemblywoman Nikki Lucas Elected As Kings County Party Chair

BROOKLYN, NY, Oct. 5, 2026 /NYC Newswire/ —  Assemblywoman Nikki Lucas was elected Sunday night to serve as Chair of the Kings County Democratic Party. Her election begins a new chapter for Brooklyn’s Democratic Party, with a focus on strengthening the organization, expanding participation and bringing Democrats together around the issues affecting communities across the borough.

“I am grateful for the trust my fellow Democratic leaders have placed in me, and I am ready to get to work,” said Assemblywoman Lucas. “This is bigger than any one person, any one group or any one election. Assemblywoman Lucas said Brooklyn’s diversity of communities, experiences and perspectives should be reflected throughout the Democratic Party. As Chair, she plans to strengthen relationships with District Leaders, County Committee Members, elected officials, Democratic clubs, grassroots organizations and community leaders across the borough.

Assemblywoman Lucas said strengthening the Party also means remaining connected to the everyday concerns of Brooklyn residents. She pointed to affordability, housing, education, public safety, opportunities for young people, support for seniors and small businesses among the issues that require continued attention and collaboration.

“People want leadership that listens, works together and delivers,” Assemblywoman Lucas said. “Our Party should be a place where people from every part of Brooklyn know their voices matter and where we remain focused on improving the lives of the people we represent.”
