Stephen Fishler, president of Metropolis Collectibles, who participated in the recovery of the stolen comic book and its subsequent sales, will be on hand. “Nic Cage is one of the featured guests at New York Comic Con, and we hope he will drop by to say hello,” he said.
The ComicConnect booth will have a selection of high-grade Amazing Spider-Man books, as well as original art that will be available at its upcoming Event Auction #68.
“Collectors are more and more interested in acquiring not just printed comic books, but also the original drawings that flowed from artists’ imaginations and pens,” said Vincent Zurzolo, president of ComicConnect. This year, his company auctioned original art from the “Death of Superman” story arc in 1992, topped $10 million, with the Superman #75 cover artwork going for $1.875 million by itself.
Zurzolo’s presence will include a booth devoted to “The Addiction,” the comic book series he co-created in 2023 with David Quinn, the writer behind such titles as “Faust” and Marvel’s “Doctor Strange: Sorcerer Supreme.”
Its heroine, Niki Tino, uses her strange powers to fight the destruction and pain caused by addiction. “It’s heroic in a way we’ve never seen before,” Zurzolo said.
You can find Metropolis Collectibles at booth #3636, ComicConnect at booth #3535 and “The Addiction” at booth #3537.
