Assemblywoman Jaime Williams to Host Brooklyn Pet Adoption Event With Community Partners in Canarsie, Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, NY — Assemblywoman Jaime Williams will host an “I Love My Pet Day” community pet adoption event on Saturday, May 16, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at her district office located at 5318 Avenue N in Brooklyn, in partnership with the Animal Care Centers of NYC and Animal Pantry.

The community-focused event will provide local residents with an opportunity to meet adoptable pets, connect with animal welfare organizations, and access pet-related resources and free giveaways. Organizers say the event is intended to help animals find loving homes while supporting pet owners and families throughout the district.

Representatives from Animal Care Centers of NYC and Animal Pantry will be onsite to provide information about pet adoption, responsible pet ownership, and available support services for pet owners in New York City.

“Pets are an important part of so many families and bring comfort, companionship, and joy to our communities,” said Assemblywoman Williams. “This event is about helping connect animals with loving homes while also making sure residents have access to helpful resources and support for their pets. We’re excited to bring the community together for a positive and family-friendly event.”

The event is free and open to the public.

Residents interested in pet adoption are encouraged to bring valid identification and speak with adoption counselors onsite about the responsibilities and process of adopting a pet.
