New community commentary platform invites residents from all five boroughs to contribute perspectives on the issues impacting New York City.
Voices of NYC Launches, Giving New Yorkers a Place to Share Their Opinions and Ideas
BROOKLYN — New Yorkers now have a new place to share their opinions, experiences, ideas, and perspectives with the rest of the city.
Voices of NYC, a new community commentary section of NYC Newswire, has officially launched and is now accepting submissions from residents across New York City's five boroughs. The platform was created to provide New Yorkers with an opportunity to voice their thoughts, opinions and ideas on the issues, challenges, and opportunities affecting their communities and the city as a whole.
Topics may include affordability, politics, education, healthcare, business, transportation, public safety, housing, deed theft, neighborhood development, quality-of-life concerns, and other issues impacting New Yorkers.
Whether you're a homeowner in Brooklyn, a business owner in Manhattan, a teacher in Queens, a healthcare worker in the Bronx, or a transportation worker in Staten Island, Voices of NYC was created for you.
"New Yorkers are passionate, informed, and deeply connected to their communities, yet many people don't have a platform to share their perspectives with a broader audience," said Vernon Jones, CEO of JIG Media, which is the parent company of NYC Newswire. "Voices of NYC was created to give residents from every neighborhood and every borough an opportunity to contribute to important conversations about the future of our city."
Voices of NYC welcomes submissions from residents, community leaders, educators, small business owners, nonprofit leaders, advocates, students, professionals, elected officials, and others with a meaningful connection to New York City.
The platform's first commentary, originally published by Brooklyn Buzz, explores issues surrounding race, gentrification, Black homeownership, and political trust from the perspective of a Bedford-Stuyvesant homeowner. Future submissions are expected to reflect a diverse range of opinions and experiences from communities throughout the city.
Voices of NYC is designed to encourage civic engagement and community dialogue by providing a space where New Yorkers can respectfully share viewpoints, personal experiences, recommendations, and ideas for improving their neighborhoods and the city.
The views and opinions expressed in Voices of NYC articles are solely those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of NYC Newswire, its affiliates, partners, or contributors.
