Baruch College has been named the top public college in New York State for the fourth consecutive year in U.S. News & World Report’s 2027 Best Colleges rankings. The Manhattan-based CUNY college earned four No. 1 distinctions, including top placements for public colleges in New York, value for in-state students, social mobility and innovation among public institutions. Baruch also ranked No. 2 among public schools in the North and No. 9 when public and private institutions in the region were combined. The college made one of its largest gains in the Best Value Schools category, moving up 28 positions to No. 37 overall and No. 3 among public institutions in the region.

College Claims #1 Rankings in Four Categories
For the fourth straight year, Baruch College has been named the top public college in New York State by U.S. News & World Report in its “2027 Best Colleges-North” rankings.
The ranking marks one of four categories in which Baruch placed first. The College also earned #1 rankings for Best Value for In-State Students and Social Mobility in the region and was named the most innovative public college, giving Baruch four #1 rankings overall.
The College was equally strong in the overall rankings, placing #9 among public and private colleges and universities in the North, up one position from last year, and ahead of 94 percent of institutions in the region.
In one of its largest gains in the rankings, Baruch climbed 28 places in the Best Value Schools category to #37 overall and #3 among public institutions in the region.
U.S. News evaluated more than 1,700 colleges and universities nationwide, ranking 155 regionally, using up to 17 factors to measure academic quality and graduate success.
